bio
Leza Ann Rawlins was born and raised in New York City. Upon graduating high school, she attended York College for two years majoring in music.

Her love of makeup has been around for as long as she can remember.  Leza credits her mother Doris for being a great source of inspiration.

In December 2001, prompted by two very dramatic events in her life, Leza decided the time had come to change careers.  It was time to do something she truly loved. She would now pursue her dream of becoming a makeup artist.

Finding a school in Manhattan that would provide her with the techniques of the pros was not an easy task.  Determined, Leza finally found "The Makeup Shop".  Under the guidance of Tobi Britton (founder, hair and makeup artist), Jason P. Hayes (hair and makeup artist) and guest lecturer Richard Snell (makeup and sfx artist), she acquired makeup techniques enabling her to work in film, runway, television, video and print.

Makeup fulfills Leza's creative side because of its limitless possibilities.  She can't envision herself ever becoming bored with it.  With a love for science too, Leza decided to study skincare.  She is also a licensed aesthetician.
